helping vulnerable residents
Vulnerable residents can come from any part of the community.
The old, ill, poor and those who are being bullied are all vulnerable. Vulnerable people can be any age and from any community.
It is a core part of what we do to provide a safe place for them to come and talk to us and ask for help knowing there is a helping hand there to support them.
You may not be a vulnerable resident but you may know someone who is. They may not know how to ask for help, who to go to or may just be to proud to ask for help.
If you know someone in this situation you can talk to us in complete confidence. Just calling in for a few minutes chat at Streets Ahead could make an enormous difference to the lives of someone who needs help.

Listening and Supporting is so important for many people who may need help
We are happy to talk to people with problems, issues, worries and concerns and provide a safe an welcoming listening environment for them. Sometimes we can help straight away, other times we may need to point the way to the support agencies who can help.
This could be meeting with a Councillor, or phoning a problem through to the right place for residents who are unsure about how to ask for help.

Dealing with On-line Services
Many vulnerable residents could benefit from using on-line services or learning how to communicate with friends and relatives on line. Don't be afraid to ask us if you need help, we have a site of computers just waiting for you!

REPORT IT NOW!! is the key message.
If you don't tell us (ideally straightaway) about problems, then we can't do anything about them and the Police, PCSOs, and Wardens will find it difficult to deal with the situations and tackle perpetrators of crime .
