The Gresham Community statement
The Community Action Plan for Newport Ward, Middlesbrough was created by Streets Ahead in conjunction with a panel of local organisations and with input from wide ranging surveys and investigations of the needs and aspirations of local residents.
We created a task group to help develop and deliver the programme using the Communities First Panel as a starting point and inviting new people to join the group to ensure a balance was achieved and that we covered the whole of the geographical area.
We invited as wide a variety of people as possible to the become members of the panel. Members included residents, staff from Middlesbrough Council, Ward Councillors, Cleveland Police, Lifeline, 13 Group representatives and local businesses.
The local authority will be developing a strategy document for the area in early 2016 and this document will form the cornerstone of that development.
The Community Plan was published in February 2016 and the actions identified in the Plan will be progressed during 2016 and 2017. To see the full Community Action Plan as a PDF document by clicking here
